Ayatollah Haj Molla Ali Kani :
He was son of Mirza Ghorbanali who was born in Kan, north of Tehran in 1220 hegira. He passed preliminary studies in Maktab(unofficial school) and having in mind attendance in theological schools, initially in Tehran and Esfahan, he then set out for Najaf and benefitted from its teachers. His teachers were such figures like sheikh m.h. Najafi, sheikh Hassan Kashefolgheta and sheikh Mashkur Holavi Najafi and was also a companion of late Haj Sheikh Morteza Ansari, and profited from two other teachers Sharifololama Mazandarani and seyed ebrahim Ghazvini and passed the superior course of jurisprudence and principles. Perseverance towards gaining knowledge brought him hardships and finally led him to the degree of religious gathering and Ejtehad(authorization in religious jurisprudence). In 1262 hegira he returnedto Tehran and began fostering and educating the youth and in 1271 hegira published his practical thesis. He was charged with the administration of the Marvi theological school and through his supervision and good conduct,an all-out discipline reigned the school. That salient jurist made his main target education of the trainees and took action to set up classes of jurisprudence and principles and other fields of Islamic sciences. Dealing with the affairs of the deprived and the needy persons was among his salient, outstanding characters. As a passionate father, he brought under his guardianship and custody many orphans and determined places for solving the problems of the needy and patient people with weak fiscal standing. Building water stores and caravanserays was among his works and public deeds. Struggle against despotism was on top of his political creed and during his age struggle against colonialism and despotism, Reuters contract and freemasonry.
He has valuable publications including Ershadolommah,Izaholmoshtabahat, tahghigh dalael (including
independent topics and discussions like Ketabolbei, Khiarat, Ghaza, shahadat, Tehar and salat) Talkhisolmasael, Toziholmaghal, , a thesis on the topic of concepts and preaches. This great scholar died at the age of 86 on Thursday, 27,Moharam 1306 and his body was carried to Haram Abdolazim in present Shabestan of Ayatollah Kashani.
