The annual Hosseini Infants Gathering was held simultaneously across Iran and at the Imam Ali (AS) Prayer Hall of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani (AS), with the participation of mothers and their infants.
According to the Department of Islamic Communications and Public Relations of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdol Azim (AS), the gathering was held on the first Friday of Muharram in remembrance of Hazrat Ali al-Asghar (AS), the six-month-old infant son of Imam Hussein (AS). The event witnessed a remarkable and heartfelt turnout of mothers and their young children at the sacred shrine.
The spiritual ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and continued with a speech by Hojjatoleslam Mirhashem Hosseini and elegies recited by Mohammadreza Gholamrezazadeh.
As part of commemorating Hazrat Ali al-Asghar (AS) and mourning the six-month-old son of Imam Hussein (AS), mothers dressed their infants in green garments symbolizing the banner of Imam Ali (AS). Through their restlessness and cries, the Hosseini infants seemed to share in the sorrow of Imam Hussein's six-month-old child.
